Halt, hear that distant roaring from the grave
Was it the cry brought back by the winds
Kingdoms have fallen in where the evil dominated
Decades have passed but the flames remained
The mighty depth’s beckoning me
The beauty in the darkness’ absorbing me
On a throne of pain, on a throne aflame
We are cleansed and reborn with nothingness
Eternally we’ll rise
Together we’ll prevail!
Nothing has stopped, nothing has left
The Reapers from the past will return from the dark domain
Belial! We are summoned for your deed!
Lamia! We are aroused for your gorgeousness
With a shape unseen, the reapers are gathering
Coming from the past the usurpers march toward
Halt, hear that distant roaring from the grave
Was it the cry brought back by the winds
On a throne of pain, on a throne aflame
We are cleansed and reborn with nothingness
Eternally we’ll rise
Together we’ll prevail
Assemble in the soil of his false grandness
Forever the blasphemy is the black reapers

Exquisite harmonies resonate profoundly! Such a resounding melody, finely woven. The shadows intricately entwine with the mellifluous riffs, crafting a sublime symphony of darkness and bliss. jayakody

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74

I'd say Havukruunu is the rightful holder of the Crown and the mantle of Quorthon. Epic choirs, vikingesque themes and tales from the other times, of the Finnish paganism back in the days before our ancestors were brought to the cross and forced to kneel while feeling the bloody sword of saviour on their throats made to kiss the hand of murderers who burnt thousands, tore down our holy places and took our holy days. Eyes teary I listen to these songs, never forgiving the crimes of the cross! Peikonmieli

Very late to the party, but for several years I've found melodic black metal all too similar and all albums sounding like Dissection, etc... HOWEVER, not only I am back into it but UADA is still a layer of complexity above the main baseline and this is an old album worth having, that's a basic milestone in UADA's discography and I felt it needed to be part of my BC collection. sachavonkarl74
